The Leeds Learning Alliance Inclusive Leadership Conference took place on Saturday 4th March at Carr Manor Community School.

We welcomed guests from across the Leeds Learning Alliance and beyond to network with likeminded people passionate about inclusivity.

Workshops were run by a range of organisations, both within the LLA and external: Leeds Trinity University, Leeds Beckett University, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Wellspring Academy Trust, The Difference, Forum Central, CATCH, Carr Manor Community School, Ralph Thoresby High School, Wetherby High School and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

A Q&A session raised important questions concerning ‘allyship’ and inclusive practices, with the panel consisting of Lois Forsell (Head Coach, Leeds Rhinos Women), Jermaine Benjamin (Managing Director, Transition Partners), Dr Sharon Watson MBE (CEO and Principal, Northern School of Contemporary Dance), Rev Tom Shaw (Director of Research and Development, Carr Manor Community School) and Reece McIntosh (Pupil, Carr Manor Community School).

Keynotes from Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE (Leeds Learning Alliance Ambassador and Head of Culture, Diversity and Inclusivity at the Leeds Rhinos Foundation), Professor Charles Egbu (Vice Chancellor, Leeds Trinity University) and Dave Whitaker (Director of Learning, Wellspring Academy Trust) were well received, and will soon be available to view online.
