Eleven visitors from three schools in Belgium spent five days in Leeds being immersed in the work of five LLA partners.

They came to see how we put our core values of inclusion, ambition and collaboration into practice through relational and restorative practice. The programme included time at Carr Manor Community School, Leeds City College 14+ Academies and Printworks Campus, Springwell North, CATCH, RESTORE and Wetherby High School.

They observed and heard from staff and young people. They had time to reflect on practice and identify the shared principles, processes and practices across the LLA. The passion and purpose, care and compassion, drive and determination, integrity and improvisation of inclusive values were an inspiration. It was a privilege to accompany them on their journey and experience the impact LLA partners have on the children, young people, families and staff in their communities.

The visitors also had an opportunity for a sing-a-long at the Carriageworks and a walkabout for Light Night. Leeds inspired and challenged them to think differently, act differently and go above and beyond for those ‘under-resourced’ young people across the city.
